Planning for Wellman's Divide 3/30

I am planning on taking the Tram up with a small group; then hike to Wellman's Divide and perhaps up towards the Mt San Jacinto. An update regarding the conditions of the route through Round Valley (need for crampons/snow shoes) from this weekend would be greatly appreciated.

I went up to Wellman divide on thursday (started in palm springs doing the skyline trail). The snow is deep but it was really compact. Boots were the only thing that i would suggest.

I left off my crampons and was fine. The divide itself is pretty free of snow and is a great place to stop and enjoy the view!

**edited to add: we stopped at Wellman since we were exhausted, so i don't know the trail conditions between the divide and the summit.
