Whitewater pics and brief TR

Hi everyone. Hope this isn't on the wrong index, I think of Whitewater as part of the San J area since the terrain is similar, even though it actually heads towards San G.

The wildflowers are only now just getting started, so they're not amazing just yet. Still, there are a few good lookin' poppies already showing.

The trail and the preserve are both very nice. Here are some pics.

Zipp, great shots, boy do they ever bring back memories of Section Hiking the PCT in that area. Are the last two shots inside the "Trout Farm"?

Is there new management there now?

Yes, those shots of the waterfall and fish were at the trout ponds, which are clean and stocked but no longer fished.

It's not the old privately held trout farm any more. Better than new management, it's now part of the conservancy.

The only drawback I've encountered so far is the beginning of little black gnat season. Coming back from the flowers, there was a stretch of maybe a quarter mile where it was hard to breathe without breathing one in. There were none at the actual site with the buildings and ponds though.

That's great to hear that the conservancy took over the trout farm.

All the old books and personal experience said that the owners were not to friendly with "Hikers" , you would think that they would want as many people to come visit as possible being that is out of the way - more people, more chance of income? But go figure?

Anyway's thanks for the pictures and the TR, Z, I may get up that way in a month for the bloom that's coming.
