Hal - I'm happy for you for every step you take on any trail. I imagine it does as much for your soul and spirit as mine do for me.

By sunday night I'll have walked 25+ in the Santa Rosas. I'm sure my neglected muscles will get a little workout.

25 plus in the Santa Rosas? Cool. You must be taking the Art Smith all the way to PS. What great terrain. Several palm oases, expansive views, solitude. Just what I like on a hike.

Oh wait. You don't mean you're doing laps on B&G, do you?

I actually went there today because my kid had to do it for a school assignment. I posted a few of my own pictures on my blog. I doubt I'll go back again this year.

I am hoping to do the West Fork in PS on Monday to the Needle's Eye so I'll have some pics of what a real hike looks like then.

No self-righteousness, really, just jealousy. I wish I had weekends off with no kid responsibilities to go and do some great hikes like those.

Oh, and those hikes would add up to WAY more that 25 miles. Way to go!
