"Crystal," is that you?

Well being as you seem to be in the same situation I was in having the "itch" to try it, wait till the snow conditions are gone. I ended up having to be rescued.

From the sound of what you have said, doing Whitney and Grand Canyon we have done much of the same and are most likely very comprable hikers. Though unless you have extensive snow/ice hiking I would say to hold off on this one till about April or May depending on the conditions.

I know I will be going at it again when snow melts.

Great! Then we agree.

I love uphills too! Downhill just wear out my joints.

Is anyone here going on thise trail for the winter months? from now till march?

I just wanted to clarify something a hiking buddy and I don't know for certain. Is the Skyline Trail the one typically used to do c2c?
Stood alone on a mountain top, starin' out at the great divide. I could go east, I could go west. It was all up to me to decide.

Here is an interesting trip report on Skyline on January 20 which has just come out. The author thinks that snow will remain until June.

It is still best to let at least one other reliable person know exactly where you are going and when you expect to return. :D
