A Question About the Peak / Area

Postby Stephenb » Sat Jan 10, 2009 5:28 pm

A few months ago I hiked to the top of Mt. San Jacinto. A few days ago, I found out that one of my classes gives extra credit to do so.

First, though, I need to know what type of Biome the mountain / region is considered. Any help is appreciated. Thank you!

I could tell you, but since its for a class, I'll do you a favor and let you do a little research to earn the credit. Try John Robinson's "San Bernardino Mtn Trails", Elna Baker's classic "An Island Called California", and the many websites devoted to the San Jacinto, San Bernardino, and Santa Rosa Mountains. It'll help you learn somthing about the flora & fauna of the local So Cal Mountains you can use on future hikes and outdoor adventures. Lets face it, anything you read on an internet bulletin board is always suspect, as its usually not traceable for research purposes.
3 of the 5 voices in my head are telling me to "Go for it!"

The pamphlet you can pick up at the tram lists the 5, or 6, or 7, or maybe you'll find out; number of biomes on the mountain.
Did you happen to grab and keep one?
