I could tell you, but since its for a class, I'll do you a favor and let you do a little research to earn the credit. Try John Robinson's "San Bernardino Mtn Trails", Elna Baker's classic "An Island Called California", and the many websites devoted to the San Jacinto, San Bernardino, and Santa Rosa Mountains. It'll help you learn somthing about the flora & fauna of the local So Cal Mountains you can use on future hikes and outdoor adventures. Lets face it, anything you read on an internet bulletin board is always suspect, as its usually not traceable for research purposes.
