parking

Does anyone know if you can park in the dirt lot by the visitors center at the tram way? We are palnning on doing doing C2C early sunday morning and taking 2 cars. We would like to park one at the muesum and one by the tram way station or the visitors center.

I'm just about certain it's fine. I've left both cars and bikes there, and there are almost always some there when I do. Many locals walk/run/ride the tram road on a regular basis for fitness, so there are always cars there.

Pretty sure parking at the visitor center is fine. Just noticed a new gate on the tram road today higher up in the "vines" area. Not sure when that gate gets closed. I think the lower gate near the visitor center is closed until around 5 or 6a.

Alternatively, the tramway has an overnight parking lot at the very top near Valley Station. It's on left right when you drive past the station.

You could just leave one car up there before they close the gates the night before, that way you don't have to try and walk/cab down to the visitors center.
