Gear Review: WoolX Lightweight Merino Wool Baselayer Serie

Postby 63ChevyII » Fri Aug 21, 2015 3:16 pm

I've been testing WoolX's line Lightweight Merino Wool clothing since June. I've been very happy with it. Merino is new to me, so I don't have an extensive direct comparison with merino from other manufacturers, but being someone that had only used synthethic clothing prior to WoolX, I now consider myself a merino convert.

If merino fits your budget, I highly recommend giving WoolX a try!

I'm a believer (in Merino). I haven't tried WoolX, but the undies I wear are Merino, and THEY DON'T STINK. I went with synthetic for the longest time since it dried out a lot faster, but DANG did it smell (eww, gross) after a couple of days on the trail. With Merino, no stench.

Since Merino is a tad on the pricey side, I still use my synthetic (since I already have a number of pairs) stuff for day hikes, but I'm all Merino (well, with respect to my boxers) for backpacking.

Thanks for the input HJ.

I am doing essentially the same as you. Cheaper synthetics for dayhikes, merino for backpacking.
