That last steep part going down is a "bit of a grind". (that's a quote from Charles)

Howdy Tina,

Great to see that you've now been up old Greyback. It is a lot more fun to ride the tram down from Skyline than hike down Vivian, isn't it.

I went up Sunday with Karin as a test for Mt. Whitney. The descent on Vivian was a good test for my ankle -- Vivian beats me up at the best of times. In fact, my descent time isn't much faster than my ascent time. At least this year there's water on the mountain.

I was happy to discover that my ankle has improved tremendously. My feet were screaming on that last steep downhill, but that's nothing new. We rewarded ourselves by dipping our feet in Mill creek before heading back to our vehicles.

I second Z-dude's recommendation to do the South Fork loop. I'm doing it this Sunday with my buddy Lance.

Miles of smiles,
Ellen
