Santiago Peak - Orange County's Highpoint

Postby KathyW » Sun Jun 01, 2008 2:06 pm

As part of my quest to hike to the County Highpoints in California, we did a hike to the top of Santiago Peak yesterday. The flowers were really pretty along the Holy Jim Trail.

Some pics I took:

Now I can color in one more county on my map.

I like the Holy Jim Trail. The fire road part of the route to the peak is not my favorite, but Santiago is special anyway because one gets used to seeing if from so many mountaintops in Southern California. And, unless one lives in OC, it seems to take years until it gets tackled.

Also, Trabuco Canyon road in a small car is a special experience! :?
