Anybody know if the dusting on 3-16/17 helped existing boiler-plate ice conditions on SanG?

Yes, it helped a little but the layer of snow is melting off fast and it's a bit icy near the top (don't slip up near the top). Some pics from this weekend:

wow that looks like fun. I can see why people go hiking on snow. Kinda make your own trails if you know how to read conditions.

Fight On - Hiking in the snow is great fun - those nasty scree slopes become wonderful hills to climb and there are no switchbacks when the trails and bushes are covered with snow.

Ya my friend Charles says he loves hiking on snow. I am starting to see why. Your hike looked really fun. Maybe when conditions are really really safe and I'm with him I will try it.
