Sunday at Baldy Bowl

Postby TomK » Tue Jan 22, 2008 12:47 pm

On Sunday I went up the Baldy Bowl and found the snow just a little too soft for my liking. I did not top out until around 11am. The snow was crusty at 9:30, then the frist 2 inches became soft about 10am. At that point I changed my route to only snow. There was some rock fall as usuall, and my neck was a little stiff from eyeing the rock band above me. I only saw two skiers and snowboarder and three hikers all day. The conditions for ski decents were perfect after 11am.

I have never attempted to attach or imbed pictures, so I am not sure this will work for me. The blue line is my route, the red is what I was planning to climb, and the orange line is where a skier decended. Hope this works.

magikwalt,

Thanks for the reply, not exactly sure what I did though. If anyone knows how to imbed photos from Photobucket, I sure could use the help.

Looks like a week or so for the slopes to firm up, maybe time to tele? I bet the ski area finally has enough snow depth, for a fun day.
