More bones near JTNP (but maybe no one we know of?)

Human remains were found near JTNP in what the locals call "Section 6". It's not actually in the park, and as far as I know is BLM land. At this point it doesn't seem like it could be Bill.

If it is indeed Section 6, then the coordinates for the center of the section are:
34.112498, -116.292044

OTOH, the Desert Sun repeatedly says the bones were found in the park, so who knows at this point.

A quick googling says Section 6 is AKA the Desert View Conservation Area.

The Gaia App has it well defined, whereas I didn't see it on the USGS layer.

I would assume these were Bill, but now that we know they were found within the Desert View Conservation area makes me believe this would be a homicide victim. If Bill made it near this location, presumably in the dark of night and attracted to the lights of civilization, then he would not have headed into there. I think the only way it could be Bill is if it was the result of scatter. Close to where I live, two people separately disappeared in 2015 within the same part of the Chiricauhas. They found some bones (I believe it might have been two leg bones, but I could be wrong) of one of these people two years ago and closed down the whole area to look for more evidence. Not a single other bone or shred of evidence was found. So maybe it is Bill and he is just somewhere near that northern park boundary. I was looking for Bill within that area 2 weeks ago. I am going back mid-February and again mid-March during vacation weeks. If there is any indication these might belong to Bill, I will probably continue looking within this area. I'd be interested in learning what comprises this "partial skeleton."

"In the park" and "near the park" may means the same thing to small town newspapers. The reader comment from presumably a local of "No surprise" says a lot. The desert is a dumping ground for gang killings and such.

Great points, Richard. I have the feeling "partial human remains" might equate to a skeleton without the skull, obviously for the sake of stripping away easier identification.

And a note to Tom...I plan to submit my GPS tracks to you after my next two trips in March, though I can certainly submit them piecemeal.

Some conjecture here, but I think this post from a family member on Facebook may be the answer to the ID of the Section 6 remains.



I searched back through two facebook groups, "Whats going on in the morongo basin," and "Yucca Valley Neighbors," and found a number of posts from several family members of one Tawny Hill, who went missing on Monday, May 13th 2019. She was last seen that night by an apartment complex in JT village in a "bad mental state."
