Mt. San Jacinto Outdoor Recreation

There is a very odd story making the rounds on FB. I personally don't understand how you can have a backpack like this (so clearly in recent use) but at the same time not have an active missing person's case. Obviously somebody went with this backpack. Who ditches all their stuff and then hikes out?
