Howdy All
A week ago Sunday, Marilyn, Cameron, Kalen and I started on a three day backpack trip to summit Langley. The smoke on 395 from the various fires obscured the normally gorgeous views as we drove to Lone Pine on Saturday.
Obligatory TH picture:
Enjoying the view of the waterfall:
Cameron's picture of the waterfall.
First good sighting of Langley.
Cool rock on the way to Long Lake.
Looking back at lakes.
Meadow before Long Lake (Cameron).
Camp at west end of Long Lake -- Team Big Agnes Fly Creek UL
View of Long Lake from campsite Sunday evening.
Heading up to New Army Pass Monday morning.
Guess where
Looking west on the way up to Langley.
Getting closer.
Looking west.
Happy Marilyn -- the two polar bears managed to find the last snow on Langley
Polemonium on Langley summit (Cameron).
Toto, I don't think we're in Kansas anymore.
Summit photos.
One of the subtle cairns marking the way up Langley.
Glad we're off the summit and descending.
View of lakes as we're heading back to camp at Long Lake.
Wonderfully quirky rocks near New Army Pass.
Almost back to Long Lake.
Monday night view of Long Lake from camp.
Tuesday morning alpine glow.
Looking back as we hike out on Tuesday (Cameron's photos).
Enjoyed a fabulous lunch at the Oklahoma Hills Café in Lone Pine before heading home. I also highly recommend the Merry Go Round for Chinese food (Marilyn and I ate there Saturday night).
Miles of smiles,
Ellen
