Langley backpack

Howdy All :)

A week ago Sunday, Marilyn, Cameron, Kalen and I started on a three day backpack trip to summit Langley. The smoke on 395 from the various fires obscured the normally gorgeous views as we drove to Lone Pine on Saturday.

Enjoyed a fabulous lunch at the Oklahoma Hills Café in Lone Pine before heading home. I also highly recommend the Merry Go Round for Chinese food (Marilyn and I ate there Saturday night).

Miles of smiles,
Ellen

Great photos, thanks! Can't figure out why a group of tough-as-rocks leave-no-peaks-behind peakbaggers like you guys did not pick up Cirque before you headed back down New Army Pass. And what load of contraband is Marilyn carrying in that humongus pack?

Yes, awesome shots of such a beautiful place! Thanks for the post Ellen. :) I agree, Ed, I think she's got a microwave oven in there...

Late reply, but hank you, Ellen, for the great trail report and pics. Splendid travels with great campanions.

and BTW my strongest memory of Siberian Outpost is, "I can't wait to get through this dry and dusty slog and get to some mountain WATER feature."

Nice pix of Langley. I'll have to bag Langley now that I've done "dreaded" New Army Pass. :)

Kind of the way I remember it. We hiked from Horsehoe Meadows over Cottonwood and Siberian Passes, camping in Rock Creek. I thought it was rather monotonous, for the Sierras, until we dropped down into Rock Creek. It was my second time in the Rock Creek area, which I love. We climbed three or four peaks from Rock Creek, then on the last day picked up Langley and Cirque when we exited via New Army Pass. From Long Lake to Horseshoe Meadows we were suffering badly from fatigue.
