Hiker rescued after 3 days

Postby Myth » Mon Jan 22, 2018 9:40 am

This story sounds a bit odd. I'm glad he was rescued, though I do wonder why it took three days to do so when he had a partner with him. Could they really have hiked in far enough that it took multiple days for his partner to hike out, or was conditions bad enough that a rescue couldn't be staged immediately?

I guess my advice would be that instead of planning to take a solar-powered light, he ( and his hiking companion ) takes a PLB with him next time. ;)

That does sound very odd. I would like details.

Hey, this is the same incident as Cy’s post a couple of threads back. The two accounts are not the same, though. The article that Cy posted said he wasn’t in much need of medical attention. The poor guy looked pretty beat up to me.
