I wonder what happened. Not many clues here, it seems. I have no theories.
I never paid much attention to missing person stories. It would be quite traumatic if someone close to you was missing.
If I wanted to disappear, I think the PCT would be a good starting point. A PCT thru hike is itself a kind of disappearance.

I just saw this now. This isn't the same missing PCT hiker as the Irish hiker, is it? Are there TWO missing PCT hikers?? With the addition of the known deaths, the toll this year on the PCT has been tragically high.

I just spent yesterday taking the family of the deceased thru hiker I found in May to the location where I found him. It was very good for everyone. They Clearly expressed how hard it would be if he had never been found.

bluerail, which hiker was that? ( if you are not at liberty to share that is ok too ) Marvin Novo is one name that springs to mind for me.
I’m saddened by how many hikers 2017 claimed. The PCT is a hope of mine, too.
