San Gorgonio

Howdy All,

Miracle Marilyn and I headed up the Vivian Creek TH, went up the Dobbs ridge to the San Bernardino ridge trail and enjoyed a lovely lunch on San Gorgonio. Carried microspikes but didn't need them. It was a beautiful day -- we had the summit to ourselves and only encountered hikers on the descent. There are advantages of being able to hike mid-week -- fewer folks and easier to snag a permit. Not many wildflowers yet but also few bugs. First San Gorgonio summit this year.

My favorite SoCal peak! John Muir was more smitten with San J, which is awesome, but I have to admit I love the smooth flatness of San G and that last little bit of flat before the peak when you get to savor your success before actually attaining it. As always, Ellen (and friends, of course, Hi Marilyn!) well done and wish I could have the time off to get up there more often myself. Thanks for the TR. :)
