Momyer Trace Trail

Howdy All :)

After hiking Skyline on Sunday and Tuesday with Miracle Marilyn, Cameron and other friends, Sally, Marilyn and I hiked up the Momyer trace trail to the San Bernardino divide trail. It took us some time to find a good place to cross Mill Creek (we went downstream then upstream). Next, it took time to find the Momyer trailhead

By the time we reached the San Bernardino divide trail (~10.5 K), we were adequately thrashed and didn't feel the urge to bag East San Bernardino peak. Trail runner Chuck passed us on the way up -- he bagged both west and east San Bernardino peaks :o then chatted with us as we ate lunch. There was no snow until we reached the SB divide/ridge, however, on the unmaintained Momyer trace trail there were numerous downed trees that we had to go over or around. Someone had worked on the bottom part of the brushy section but higher up it was a bloody bushwhack -- even with pants, my legs tell the tale. Based on the wildflowers we saw on the lower elevations of Momyer, the Alger creek trail is probably gorgeous.

Enjoyed dinner at El Mexicano afterwards -- a great day with wonderful friends.

Miles of smiles,
