Howdy All
Went up Vivian and Dobbs ridge to Jepson with Sally last Wed. We carried crampons, ice-axe and microspikes but didn't need to use them. We did not encounter snow until just before west Dobbs Peak. It was extremely windy on the plateau over to east Dobbs and knocked us around a bit as we negotiated the sun cupped snow The climb up to Jepson once we crossed the trail was half dirt, half snow. Enjoyed lunch in a sheltered spot on Jepson before descending back to west Dobbs and down the ridge. On the climb up, we were happy to have the breeze. On the descent, it was so windy that we couldn't even talk -- be careful what you wish for Great late dinner at El Mexicano before heading home.
Miles of smiles,
Ellen
