I think my first overnight backpack trip was to Round Valley from the tram around 1971 or 72. My dad drove me to the tram station. I remember i had freeze dried beef Stroganoff for dinner and it was so horrible i couldn't eat it. This was back when you could camp next to the meadow. A bit later did a day hike to RV with my first girl friend. Not sure the date but i remember the creek from RV was frozen over in places. That was pretty neat. Also the trail used to be closer to the creek back then.
