Yucaipa Ridge Access?

How does one gain access to the top of Yucaipa Ridge?

I know that one can come in from the west through the BearPaw Preserve and from the east via Mill Creek Jump Off and Galena Peak (hardly an easy route), but are there any other routes?

I see on the USFS maps -- http://caltopo.com/m/GJ2G -- three trails leading up to the ridge from the south: 1W20, 1E11, and and unnamed one coming up Ford Canyon. I assume these trails do not in fact exist any longer. Is this correct (that they effectively don't exist) or are any of those even remotely followable?

I also see two dirt roads, 1S09 and 1S22. What are the statuses of these roads?

There is a trail behind the powerhouse that is along Hwy 38 just past the Mill Creek Ranger Station, but it's not a sanctioned route; so it probably shouldn't be added to any list and I wouldn't suggest heading up that route with a group of noisy people.

You could also go in from Banning, but the road is gated. There are also other routes, but access is an issue with those ones too.

Bearpaw Reserve is the best way and the folks there are really nice about letting people through that way. If you ask in advance, they will allow you to park on their property next to the trailhead. Here's the contact info: http://www.wildlandsconservancy.org/pre ... arpaw.html
