Desert Sun misinformation (Whitewater Preserve closure) ...

The Desert Sun is reporting the the Whitewater preserve is closed for the summer.

Actually, only the southern section of the Canyon View Loop Trail is closed.

The fire closure also affects all areas along side of the road leading to the preserve.

Trails north of the Preserve (including the PCT) are still open for hiking and access to the river.

Yeah, I saw something about that on the PCT Facebook page. Thanks for the clarification.
