Burning Coals on Baldy

Postby Ellen » Thu Jun 05, 2014 11:35 am

Howdy All,

Super Sally, Miracle Marilyn and I got an early start yesterday up Register ridge. As we approached the Devil's Backbone trail, we saw several folks hiking down hill. Didn't think much about that until we got to Baldy at 8 AM and found these burning coals in a wind shelter:

We were equipped with our hands and rocks -- didn't have adequate water or snow to douse them. Took our time and did the best we could. The result is below.

On the way down the Ski Hut trail, we just missed seeing a big horn. Sigh, one of these days.

To the bozo(s) who likely started this with Baldy wood, I have this to say:
!@#$%^& Grrr...

Wow, that's appalling, Ellen. Thank goodness you guys came along.

What are people thinking? How could that seem okay to them?
