Note the tiny pine in the boulder.
so still you could hear fish jump all across the lake

That's one tough little tree!
Hey, HH8, just this last Wednesday Ellen and I were discussing who goes to the most interesting places and who writes the nicest trip reports, and we thought of you guys. Was your big trip of the summer in the Yosemite area, and will there be a TR?

Great photo, HH8.
Endure, with tenacity.
Essence of/inspiration for bonsai.
Thanks also Fred, for the comparison image from eight years ago.
The manner and methods by which such plants cope with soil, nutrients, water, temps, solar incidence and so on are fascinating--to a much smaller audience than that which can appreciate the beauty.
Which is enough, itself.
kind regards,
arocknoid

sure, but I haven't even made time to look through all pix yet.
Burst a ring, over 300K miles, so car now must be replaced.

So cool you noted it too!
Poor thing doesn't get many hrs/yr to work on growth there.
