Two weeks ago a friend and I climbed the "Dinner Plate Traverse," a group of 5 peaks surrounding Lake Tulainyo, the highest named lake in California. Its an awesome route in the Sierras, off the beaten path and away from the nearby zoo (Mt. Whitney).

awesome is the word. Your caveats on the class rating of sections of trail are much appreciated.

Epic, eric.

Your TR has well-crafted images and route tips--much appreciated. I have done Russell and Thor, but not the rest of the "Dinner Plate."

Tommey's "solution" sounds like he has been taking tips from Brundlefly. (shout out to JeffG) GLOP v gorp

Kudos for composition in photos, esp:

I just skimmed over your TR and pics, eric, and I can't wait until I have time to read every word and savor the whole thing this weekend. Holy cow, what a trip! Gorgeous!
