Here's a link with a good map of the fire: http://www.inciweb.org/incident/3415/

Let's hope they get it fully contained soon, and that it doesn't burn much deeper into the wilderness.

3827AC and 52% containment

I'm bummed on this fire, hits home & soul!
so any updates appreciated

It is currently burning in steep, rugged terrain in the San Gorgonio Wilderness..
.it's hit South Fork Whitewater, Raywood Flats
diversion dams and flume et. al.
although they said attempts were made to save those historic structures...no way to save it all.

area beyond MCJO is pure matchbox, old growth/heaps of fuel
and 'impossible' to try and make a fight-in and beyond that is Dragon's Head/Bighorn

I think they'd make a real attempt to hold it at the Galena ridgeline.
and out of that area beyond MCJO....
my favorite flora and fauna :(
they're probably held up at the diversion dams with giant pumps/lines running everywhere???!!!!

large plum today obliterated summit et. al. from the east.
Normally in this view (Y.V. looking west) you see Bighorn/Tarn/San G.

this map is old now but...

what's western side look like, ie A.O.?
less smoke today wind shift?

6/16/2013 - 3827AC and 52% containment and looking better now, not growing so much, Saturday the summit was visible, in fact I couldn't see the plume.

The fire contiunes to look better each flight biggest issue is the Northeast corner where there continues to be small growth. (this is south fork WW area)

The was fire spread along the East and Northeast corner of the fire. There appears to be isolated heat over the line near the far Northeast corner. This was marked, there could be one of them over the river (over south fork)

Here's a time-lapse video of lots of smoke from the webcam at bensweather.com, dated 6/9/13:

Nothing much happens excepts clouds cruising by until the 1:00 minute mark, so you can skip to there to save time.
