Cool Jim, as a fellow map/list enthusiast, I always appreciate those!

So, you wouldn't consider anything in the southern Sierra part of SoCal?

Not really, and from checking around, most people don't. Some have argued that Telescope Peak in Death Valley should be considered part of Southern California. Perhaps.

I just listed out the peaks that are for sure Southern Cal, approximately 24 of them if you include them all, but only 19 if you include only those recognized by the HPS.

Just something to look at if you're looking for a hike... "Hey, I've never done that peak before." You know. :)

Uh-oh, don't give me any ideas, HJ! I've done 15 of those peaks, so I guess I only have 9 to go. Hmmmm... I wonder which one I can do next.

Jim, ah ok, interesting! I always considered Owens and Olancha to be socal. I guess I'm too lenient when it comes to boundaries and limits.. and rules too for that matter ;)

Trust me, I know. I'm on the verge of joining Mountain Maniacs Anonymous.

Good job Sally! I'm only at 13, got a ways to go!

To make things a little easier, here's a map of Southern California Peaks above 10,000 Feet in Elevation. You'll need to zoom in and scroll around a bit.

I've listed the letter designations below. The letters serve only to designate which peak is which; the order of the letters is not significant.

By the way HJ, I might give that xc route from the boundary straight to HMS a shot this weekend. If I do, I hope to go by way of Glacier Valley. I'll post a TR with pics if I make it.

That'd be really cool. That looks like a really neat area.

I still have so many "projects" on my list in and around the SGW:
-Dragon's Head
-Bighorn Mountain
-Allison Falls
-The "Navel"
-Old Lost Creek Camp
-Lower North Fork (below North Fork Meadows)
-The entire SE quadrante of the SGW

etc, etc, etc.
