Mt. Whitney Portal Store board reunion on Baldy on Sunday

After being slapped by San Gorgonio last Friday, Marilyn, Perry and I headed up Register Ridge to Baldy on Sunday. Baldy had the lowest chance of thundershowers.
Ultra-runner Rick and friends were living the high life -- they had chilled beverages and and even used a wok. We had just settled in for brunch when I saw Richard Petrowski approach our rock sanger. Then came Shin Nimura (aka Mr. Baldy), Brandon, Giga Mike and Rick. Richard had come south from Ridgecrest to enjoy a hike without having to dodge thundershowers. I believe this was close to Shin's 250th time on top of Baldy.

, Shin took pictures. We had a great time catching up and sharing Rick Kent stories. Sadly, the time came to adjourn the impromptu meeting of the Whitney Portal Store board and we headed down. The world really is a small place.
