Registering Independence Day
Howdy All
Had a great hike up Baldy via Register Ridge with Sally, Perry A, and Marilyn T. This was Sally and Marilyn's first time up Register -- they loved it. I wore my red shirt and carried an American flag bandana The wind picked up as we climbed and knocked us around on the Devil's Backbone on the way to the peak. Other 4th of July celebrants were enjoying the summit when we arrived -- including the nice gentleman with the four dogs who remembered that I shared my Ruflles potato chips
It was colder on top compared to my last visit and onimous clouds were rolling in over the peak. We enjoyed a quick brunch (thanks to Marilyn for the yummy avacado sandwiches) then headed down the Bowl trail. As usual, there were lots of folks coming up. By and large, everyone had good trail ettiquette and were in good spirits. Not a bad way to work up an appetite for the evening barbecue.
Miles of smiles and belated Happy 4th,
Ellen
