This post is kind of late notice, but:

I am hiking an exploratory hike this Saturday in the San Gorgonio Wilderness.

Here's another chance to cruise the beautiful high forest along San Bernardino ridgeline, mostly on trail, 18 miles round trip, 4800' gain. We will hit three Peaks, Shields Pk, East San Bernardino Pk, Anderson Pk, and they happen to be on the 100peaks list....

Bring lunch and plenty of water, I hike with 130 oz on warm days.

Pace will be moderate on this conditioning hike.

We will meet at the Mill Creek Ranger station at 7:30 and proceed there to the trailhead.

Email me if you are interested in carpooling, I am in Palm Desert

Hey Donnie, you might get more responses on this board:
http://members.boardhost.com/sgva/

And a few pop-up ads.... :D But that's where most of the San G hikers are going.

Posting your email is likely to get you some spam, as their email harvesting programs cruise through web pages and collect emails. If you type it in a way that only humans can understand, then the spam programs can't recognize it.

Perry,
Thanks for the link, I was hoping to connect with a local hikers from the Coachella valley, but already this hike is at full permit capacity (12 hikers). Will try the link for my next hike....

I see. The next time, if you say something that is at least vaguely local.... :D Hell, Kathy's Rainier post was about how "Skyline training paid off."

My original idea of this message board was for meeting local hikers and finding out about Mt. San Jacinto trail conditions, but if most people here prefer, I can just let people post whatever instead of moving unrelated topics to this section..... Thoughts?

Keep moving the off topic stuff to the off topic section. IMHO. I sense an attempt at irony.

Thanks. I just want to make sure that my ideas are in line with what the majority of users want this message board to be. The trick is I think finding the right balance between organization and informality.

I am going to change that photo in the upper left. I'm in LA right now but will be back in the desert soon.. Somebody told me it looks like an alien.

If the moderator thinks your post was off-topic, he can move it to "Other Areas & Off-Topic Discussions -- Anything Non-Mt. San Jacinto goes here." :D

The "Other Areas & Off-Topic Discussions -- Anything Non-Mt. San Jacinto goes here" section works for me.
