Mt. San Jacinto Outdoor Recreation

Hi all. Here's a few pics from the storm. We got about 6" here in Yucaipa. The last ones are of Wildwood State Park, where I do most of my daily runs. Pardon the first few pics, they're just of my house and of my ferocious snow beast.

Anyone else got recent snow pics? I hope someone goes up the tram today and takes some more stunning fresh snow shots of the wilderness.

Thanks for the awesome pictures. At what elevation is your house?
I climbed McKinley Mountain in the San Bernadinos this morning above the town of Highland not far from you. The elevation is 3700 feet with more than 2000 ft gain. The last 700 feet was a snow climb. Sorry that I have no pictures

Great question. You know when you're out in the fresh snow, and the crystals sparkle in rainbow colors, and you wish you could show people at home who don't do this sort of thing the magic of the freshly fallen snow out in the wilderness...I was trying to get the camera to catch a shot of those sparkles. I was almost, but not quite, successful.

Winter wonderland indeed. Glad you got to enjoy some snowtime at home, in this abysmally dry winter.

You have great composition and use of color / contrast in this photo (they're all good :)
