I noticed on your cycling blog that you know a family friend of mine, Mike Arcaro. I've been friends with his son Kevin since I was born basically. Mike is a super talented painter and I know this first hand because he painted my '94 Supra about three years ago and will soon be painting my dad's '67 Mustang fastback.

I'd be interested in a ride with you in the future. I went solo today, left Bermuda Dunes, east on 42nd, south on Jefferson, down to PGA West, past the fire station, and up to the Lake Cahuilla park and back. Total ride was 26.4 miles and ride time was 87 minutes.

I took this picture today around 10:30am. I was riding a Fondreist Luxter. I'm used to riding a Cannondale, the Fondreist is a night-and-day difference, it FLIES.

Few more, the bikes are hand-made in Italy from blue carbon fiber. Carrying three full water bottles feels like it nearly doubles the weight of the bike LOL.

Patrick,
I first met Mike more than 20 years ago and used to ride with him with the Palm Springs Bike Club back then. He was and is a really strong rider, way above anywhere I have ever been. You are right about what a great painter he is. The work he does on cars is amazing, makes them better than new. Your bike is beautiful.

Thanks for the compliment on the bike. The Fondreist is actually my dad's (I ride his backup cannondale usually) and if you have known Mike that long, you have probably riden with, or at least met, my dad Robert Blake. He's a hematologist at Eisenhower Medical Center. He's been friends with Mike since before I was born.
