That first one looks super light and easy to use, wonder how well that striker lights in the wind or at altitude? Hope they let you do that.

The stove looks like a winner. The ignition looks like you'd be better off just taking matches, a lighter, or a firesteel, but I'll withhold judgement until I can actually get my hands on one.

Murphy is in cahoots with Piezo, just waiting for the worst possible time to give you "click-click-click," as thoughts of Jack London are drowned amid chattering teeth.

Piezos always fail over time, so you'll be carrying a backup method anyway. I use a thin extended butane source, topped off and kept in shirt pocket pre-ignition.

For me, the Universal would add another fuel option I wouldn't use except with a can-stove...the MSR International I've had for fifteen years has never seen any fuel but white gas. "But I'm ready!"

(and a JetBoil sure does a quick and easy job for brief jaunts. Especially when I load it in my son's pack. 8^)

Truly, I don't see the point of a separate piezo ignition. Why not just carry a pack of matches, a lighter, or a fire steel? I think the other options would be more versatile whereas the piezo lighter will only work on the stove. The great convenience of a piezo ignition is that it's built in and you can light the stove at the click of a button (when it works that is). Make the piezo ignition a separate unit, and what's the point? Maybe a nice gadget, but it doesn't seem really practical. Get ya a nice Bic.
