Seen on the original HPS 10K ridge high point which is at the eastern end of the ridge, elevation 9930 (or 9921 per the register) on a page marked 1968:

wow, what a post. Let's see, that's from 1968, that would make Cy about 42 years younger than he is right now...he must be a time traveler, I'm encountering negative numbers here....Cy, you couldn't really have been negative 21 years old at the time, could you?

Thanks for posting that Jim. It sure brings back memories and will make my day and week. I cant believe the summit register is still there. I was 31 years old then and desperately want to go back in time.
1968 was also the year that I completed the 100 peaks emblem list. On the link below I am number 172

Wish I could say I went out to that point on the ridge, but no such luck. Pitownpi on the San Gorgonio board posted this pic. I thought it worth re-posting here in honor of "Mr Skyline," an inspiration to us all.

Congrats on a tough, remote summit; best wishes for many summits to come.

I wouldn't mind losing a few years either, Cy, but I was only 5 years old at the time of your ascent. I don't think I want to go back THAT far.

By the way, that's quite an accomplishment, getting the HPS emblem. Over the last 60 or 70 years, only about 1,000 people have done that.

I can only imagine how seeing something like Jims' picture can bring back some great memories. We've never met...that I know of, but hearing of long time enthusiasts like yourself brings nothing less than inspiration to someone who was not even a thought, let alone a twinkle in my father's eye in '68.
