New Hiking Staff

I want to know what everyone thinks about my new hiking staff. My idea is a hiking staff that contains a hunting knife, a ropesaw, and a dry compartment for storing matches. The knife will unscrewed and unsheathed from the staff. The saw handles will unscrew from the lower part of the staff and will be conected by the ropesaw. The dry compartment will be inside the knife handle. This will allow the hiker to carry larger tools without adding alot of extra weight. Would you buy this tool at a decent price?

I know I've seen these before. A quick google didn't find it, but did find:
The ultimate, with blow darts and fishing spear (not sure this is legal in Cal)

Carbon fiber, with needle knife

Do it yourself

I wouldn't want one. Don't need a big knife when I have ______. Don't want to carry that much weight in my hands. And prefer to use carbon fiber trekking poles anyway.

I'd rather keep my gear in either backpack or belt pack and not in a hiking pole.

Last time I saw anyone using a hiking staff was in an REI advertisement. Most folks I know use adjustable, lightweight hiking poles or no poles/staff at all.
What's the purpose of a big knife? I get by with a small pocket knife.
Similar, what's with the saw? No real use to me, and its illegal to cut branches off of trees in most areas I hike (wilderness areas).
Waterproof case for matches? Why not just carry a lighter, or multiple lighters in different areas (backpack, pocket, etc).
Are you a principal?

you know, there have been a few times when I have been trapped down in really thick overgrown canyons where the dead palm fronds were 4 feet deep and the mesquite were so thick you could barely make it through. I did think that some sort of really lightweight staff with a snap in blade would have been nice to do some pruning with. But don't think I'd buy one, or the one your talking about. I like my stuff in my pack.

I wonder if the Tram guys would object to a new walking stick this spring?

Sure would fix a better path for the Ranger Route.
