San Gorgonio

Can anyone give me tips on water avaliablity in the San Gorgonio wilderness night now? I would like to plan a backpack for this weekend, but am concerned about water.
I don't really care about a destination, just some time in the wilderness with some avaliable drinking water.

Hi Sparky. You have lots of good choices.
On the easy side, John's Meadow is a fairly short hike - about 3 miles of roughly level trail - and it's a nice destination with a very reliable water source.
If you want a more challenging hike, you could go up the Momyer trail to Alger Creek - also very reliable.
If you want a pretty tough hike and the chance to go up and do the peak, then High Creek on the Vivian Creek trail would be a good choice.
Bears are very seldom an issue in the San G wilderness, but right now there's a pesky one over by Halfway Camp, which is not far from High Creek and kinda close to Alger Creek. I'd suggest a bear canister if you choose one of those camps.

yes this does help, thank you.
I would like to avoid vivian creek for a chance of solitude.
What I was wanting to do is come out of fish creek and loop around the peak, than back out. It sounds like this may be doable without carrying too much water.
I only like to carry 1 liter in my hand and 1 liter in my pack.
Are bear cannisters avaliable for rental at the ranger station? 5$?

I like your Fish Creek idea if you don't mind the drive. The road has a nasty spot on the back side, so a car with good clearance would be helpful. I don't know about the bear canisters, and I think the Mill Creek Ranger Station is closed today, but you might be able to find out from the Barton Flats Visitor Center or some other ranger station. With either trail, this is a good season to go if you're looking for solitude.
