Howdy All :)

I finally uploaded the pictures from my John Muir trail backpacking trip. You should be able to access them here:
http://www.photoshop.com/user/EllensHik ... f&wf=share

Please let me know if the link doesn't work.

We averaged about 10 miles a day -- started at Duck Pass trail and came out over Kearsarge into Onion Valley. Now I have a better idea of logistics and how to lighten the pack, I want to go back next year and do the entire JMT.

Miles of smiles,
Ellen

Great photos. They sure show why some people call it the most beautiful hike. Your photo caption about you having a thing for stone cabins almost caused me to choke to death. Bad time to be eating a snack.

Thank you for posting the photos and showing me a little bit of what I long to go do.

Nice pix Ellen, a little taste of paradise (in the case of your trip a whole mouthfull) will entice anyone to come back.

Thanks for sharing. :D

Beautiful country! Reminds me of three summers ago -- I want to go back and do it again!

Nicely done Ellen. You're a hikin' fool! I especially liked the morning pics from the first tarn, the Rae Lakes and Charlotte Lake. And your hair in that one pic! "What's my hair doing?" Anything it wants!

Thanks for sharing the pics!

Howdy Alan :)

I remember seeing your pictures from your JMT with Eric three years ago -- which fueled my desire for this trek. I absolutely want to go back and hike the whole trail. How did you arrange your resupplies? Due to our shorter trip, we only had to resupply at Muir. I can see resupplying at Vermillion Ranch as well. However, to resupply at Rock Creek using mules would have cost a fortune ($700). If I were younger and didn't have spine issues, I could carry more weight but that isn't possible now. Would appreciate any tips you have.

Miles of smiles,
Ellen

We are not necessarily the best source of re-supply advice. We hiked to Tuolumne on the first day and Mammoth on the second. There we picked up the rest of our food -- 7 day's worth. So we did not use the traditional resupply places. That worked because I was hoofing it along behind Eric. :D
