Trails into San Gorgonio from Morongo Valley?

Postby Qadgop the Mercotan » Sat Aug 29, 2009 7:15 pm

I'd like to explore the eastern regions of the San Gorgonio wilderness area, and am wondering if there are any trails accessible from the Morongo Valley area, off of Highway 62. Or perhaps off of Whitewater Canyon road region.

Thanks!

Check with the Wildlands Conservancy.

The PCT can be picked up at Whitewater or Mission Creek. The Wildlands Conservatory allows hiking through their land to get to the PCT from either the Whitewater Preserve or the Mission Creek Preserve.

You can also head up Pipes Canyon, which starts near Pioneertown, to Big Bear. You'll want to check with the The Wildlands Conservancy to see if the Pipes Canyon area is open (A lot of that area was damaged pretty bad by a fire a couple years ago).
