Is anyone planning to do all or part of the High Sierra Challenge -- 10 days - 213 miles - 73,400 ft of elevation gain next month :)

I wish I was in my early sixties again :)

Cy, if i would have known about this a couple months ago i would have signed up, it looks fun. I would need a couple months advance notice to pull it off.
I tried to click on the links and they are not working correctly, do you have a proper link for more information?

Now that sounds like my kind of event! Even sounds like you can pick your peaks, so you might not want to do all the days. In a year or two, when (if?) the economy turns around, it might be fun to take a group of hikin' fools up there. I probably wouldn't do every day, but what do you think about this itinerary:

Day 1: Hike to peak with main group.
Day 2: Relax by pool in Lone Pine and drink beer all day.
Day 3: Hike to peak with main group.
Day 4: Relax by pool in Big Pine and drink beer all day.
Day 5: Hike to peak with main group.
Day 6: Relax by pool in Bishop and drink beer all day...

...you get the picture!

That plan will never work. Insufficient beer allocation.

Can we book this now? I like this schedule, although i might trade out the beer with mojito's, now that sounds refreshing.

Z,

Your trip planning skills are off the charts. I like the recharge day in the pool after a long peak baggin day. Scores a 10 on the fun o meter.

We should set this up for next summer.

five of those days alone are @ or near 30 miles each with close to 10,000 to 12.000' of gain each. the other five are big days too, with mileage in the high teens and significant climbs.

all on consecutive days.....are you guys sure this is suppose to be fun ?

I'd rather just be in the pool drinking Tinas Mojitos and Zips beer, now that part sounds like fun.
