San G trail conditions?

Postby cbadrunner » Mon Jun 08, 2009 2:28 pm

I'm planning on hiking from Fish Creek or South Fork to San G peak with a friend this Saturday (June 11). Never done it before but have done Whitney many times and several Colorado 14ers. Does anyone know the general trail conditions and any recommendations/warnings for first timers on San G starting from either of these northern trailheads? Thanks!

The South Fork Trailhead (paved road to the trailhead) is easier to get to than the Fish Creek Trailhead (long dirt road to the trailhead). The various routes to the summit of San Gorgonio are very nice fom both those trailheads and the trails are easy to follow and clearly marked now that snow is not a problem.
