I'm planning on doing Mt Shasta in early April. Does anybody have any recent conditions? And does anybody know of any discussion forums for the Shasta area? And last thing, does anybody have any contacts in the Mt Shasta area that I can use fo rlast minute weather, road info and maybe some beta?

Any and all info is greatly appreciated.

The Fifth Season is probably the most reliable at giving weather, road conditions.

What kind of beta are you looking for? I've done Shasta via three different routes so I might be able to help.

this forum doesn't appear to be as active as San J, but it's one more forum to try:

Norma - that site appears to be down. I've been checking it for the past few days and nada. Too bad if that's the case, as it's where the USFS climbing rangers post their daily Climbing Advisory report.

Yes, one and the same. I just checked that site, and it's back up, thank goodness. They've given it a face lift recently as well. I relied on their Climbing Advisory page for years. Reading conditions posted by the USFS snow rangers themselves provides consistency as well as accuracy.
