Trip report: Ice house Saddel March 7

Postby stobbart » Sun Mar 08, 2009 11:05 am

Took a group of 12 up to Ice house saddle through ice house canyon. The weather was perfect and the snow was nice and packed except for a few areas. Crampons and snow shoes were not necessary. I took my ice ax and had the easiest time going up, because the trail was gone we decided to follow the creek up which was terrific. Though ice ax was not needed, everyone but one made it up and they just had hiking poles with ice feet. The trip was amazing and we were gonna try and hit Taquits peak but clouds started coming in as you can see from the picture. So we headed back early. Took started hiking at 930 and left at 330 with a nice lunch break.

I plan to go up again in 2 weeks on the 20th if anyone else wants to go.

The pics were taken from my cell so they are not the best quality

Your first pic looks pretty cool. Nice phone you got there.
If you're not living on the edge,
you're taking up too much room!
