Yep. I check on her progress a few times each day...there was a flurry of check-in's today, I'm not sure why. Looks like her progress is good and I'm hopin' she's having fun. Crazy adventure, probably a little more intimidating alone. I have plenty of confidence in Ellen's endurance, I just hope those evil mosquitoes have left her alone so she can enjoy the ride. We'll know soon.

Hmmmm.... No check in yet today. I was hoping to see when she made it over Mather Pass. I wonder if her spot's batteries ran out.

I'm hoping everythings OK.

Her SPOT's not working?

In that case, a simple encouragement to her technological companion: see SPOT run; run, SPOT, run.

P.S. I'm sure she's fine. SPOT's aren't exactly known for reliability.

She must have gotten new batteries or realized that it wasn't transmitting correctly, her spot is now showing her way south of the last of Thursday's check in by Palisades Lakes, now it's showing her down by a small lake on the south side of Pinchot Pass, she covered good ground and the check shows 9:40 PM that means she's giving it all she has - Go Ellen Go :D

Ellen really made some tracks! Wow, two passes in one day! I'm glad that spot sent us a message finally, and that she's OK.

The moon is sure bright tonight. I wonder if it's keeping her up, too.

Can anyone tell me why the map on her (and others') Spot's tracking page shows up as a 1x1 inch rectangle at the top left of the map window? This has been a problem on both my PC and laptop for some Spot tracks, but just on my PC for Ellen's. It's been fun following her :-)

Ellen must feel close to home. She just left Dollar Lake and is now passing Arrowhead.

As far as finishing date, she'll probably be pretty close to her original plan. That cheeseburger at the portal is gonna taste mighty fine.

It looks like she might be setting up camp at Rae Lakes. I'm guessing she got in about 12 or so miles today. I don't think I can make a prediction of when she'll get to Whitney Portal just yet.

Have a nice evening, Ellen!

Best wishes to Ellen! If I had to predict, I would say that, based on recent progress, she'll hit Whitney Portal on Wednesday. On the other hand, knowing Ellen, she might put on a push and grab a burger and (more importantly) a beer (or three) on Tuesday! It's all good because it's the JMT!
