Fire perimeter Thursday 2pm .. http://inciweb.nwcg.gov/photos/CABDF/20 ... 1-CDT.jpeg

I expect the SG wilderness, at least trails from the north, will be closed for a very long time.

Yeah, you know, that place where you go when you need some peace, that place where you go to remind yourself that despite the madness of daily life all is right with the world, that beautiful little piece of Eden that still remains in this crazy torn up planet...it looks like that place is on fire.

Say it ain't so.

superimposed this am's IR perimeter on quads....

Image

not worried about my loss;
nothing but good experiences/memories & photographs to aid in reminiscing.
let 'em close anything for 20 years IMO, time for pi to move on.

AM worried about drought-stressed & fire-displaced/confused bunnies, deer, bighorn, mountain lion, et. al...(cry)
All on Vivian creek trail when/if it opens......(errr)
be sure to wear an orange vest,
easy hunting this season...good concentration & visibility.

fire will run up to the Sawtooth complex fire line on the east...can't go any further;
already into Mission creek and met the old burn line
already dipped into Hell For Sure and met the old burn line there.

probably saved the abandoned Tayles cabin though?

Nice map.

I've been watching the maps, and they haven't made any changes for about 18 hours. Not sure why.

I put a link up on my blog to a topo map that will be updated automatically: Lake Fire.

Watched the fire for a short time from San Jac today, it doesn't seem as active as the first few days. Let's hope they get it contained soon.
Happy Trails!

Such a horrible loss of so much prime recreation areas and trails. Horribly sad. Hard to even imagine anything worse.
