I too am jealous! Those are gorgeous pictures, and staying out backpacking that long is amazing! Congratulations to you, and hopefully someday I'll be out there that long on such beautiful trails.

Ellen, would you mind sharing some of your meals on your menu? For instance, what kind of lunches did you carry? I'm trying to find ways to lighten up. Thanks!

Howdy Alan,
We are not necessarily the best source of re-supply advice. We hiked to Tuolumne on the first day and Mammoth on the second. There we picked up the rest of our food -- 7 day's worth. So we did not use the traditional resupply places. That worked because I was hoofing it along behind Eric. :D
   Dude, you're killing me  Looks like I'll be checking elsewhere for resupply advice

Howdy Mike,

Sylvia developed the menu for breakfast and dinner -- I'll see if she's willing to share her recipes, etc. Breakfast alternated between eggs, pancakes and oatmeal. Dinners were a combination of Mountain House and her own concoctions.

For lunch, I carried pretzels and cheese (Bonabel Swiss cheese spread). These items were shipped to Muir Ranch as well and arrived in good shape. Next time, I'll use the small Bonabel Cheddar cheese individual servings wrapped in wax. Syliva and Terry carried different gorp mixes that she created and became totally burnt out on that about half-way through. I never got tired of my lunch.

Miles of smiles,
Ellen
