I'm really impressed with that Precipice Lake. Did you guys do a big loop or have other transport logistics?

beautiful photos and descriptions Jim. what gorgeous backcountry and views!

i too love the local mountains, but i call the summer "Sierra Season," since that's where i'd rather spend my time. but once the snows hit and the temps go down in So Cal, i am back perusing my own backyard.

i am glad your knee is good enough to get out there and hike.

hike on!

Many years ago my brother and I made camp at Precipice Lake. The fog was so thick we could hardly see the lake, and couldn't see the precipice on the other side. The next morning we were awoke by the sound of lots of rocks falling. Having no idea what the area looked like, we just sat and hoped for the best until we heard them splash into the water on the far side.
