Hey, Pi posted a link over on the San G board. Check out this pic:

Here's the link to his TR.

Scary! I'm gonna move mountain lions right up there next to snakes now! Guess I'm gonna have to start carrying pepper spray or a 30.06 with me, but how am I gonna fit a 30.06 in my running pack?

Thanks to Pi for an awesome post.

Wow, those are some beautiful cats! It's always nice to see nature like this, regardless of the danger. What an experience that must have been though...Nerve racking for sure.

Pitownpi,
i am so envious of your sighting! your photos are amazing! have you ever seen the cats there before or was this the first time?

for those that find this scary, as long as you face the cougar odds are they will not attack. they only attack from behind. so if you ever see one in the wild, face them, don't turn and run away, back up to something larger than you like a tree or a boulder and take photos! plus, we all have a greater chance of being struck by lightning than ever being attacked by a mountain lion. they prey on deer and smaller animals. not stinky hikers.

Incredible encounter and pictures, especially if you emerged with unsoiled garments.

In this case, I have to way that the eyes have it.

Thanks for the TR, what an experience!
I've hiked all over around here for over 20 yrs. & haven't had that opportunity ...yet!
I'd do the same, observe, and let them know your a force to be reckoned with.
But 3 at once, I'd be lookin over my shoulder every 30 secs after that.
That looks like some kickass terrain too!
