The Nature Conservancy Photo Contest Deadline June 30th 2015

Postby TNC-Midori » Fri Jun 26, 2015 11:30 am

The Nature Conservancy is pleased to announce its 2015 Digital Photo Contest and there are only 2 days left to submit your best nature photos! This year's theme is The New Wild and we'll be thanking the winners with GoPro gear, Patagonia jackets, free memberships, placement in The Nature Conservancy 2017 calendar and more! We're a little low in two types of submissions right now: we’d like to see more photos that depict humans in nature and more diving photos.

The contest is open to nature loving U.S. residents over 18; you have till Tuesday, June 30th 12am EST to submit your most beautiful, dramatic images. You may submit as many images as you like via Facebook or through our website http://www.nature.org/photos-and-video/ ... /index.htm. To see the amazing work of previous winners, go to http://www.nature.org/photos-and-video/ ... deshow.xml.

Submissions will be judged by a panel of Nature Conservancy employees and guest judges. A People's Choice award will also be determined by whichever of 100 honorable mentions receive the most votes by the public. Voting will take place in August of 2015. Contestants will retain full ownership of their submissions; winners grant The Nature Conservancy royalty free rights to use their winning photos in support of its mission. For official rules and rights, please go to http://www.nature.org/photos-and-video/ ... /index.htm.

12:00 AM? Is that 12:00 midnight or 12:00 noon?

The American Heritage Dictionary of the English Language has a usage note on this topic: "By convention, 12 AM denotes midnight and 12 PM denotes noon. Because of the potential for confusion, it is advisable to use 12 noon and 12 midnight."

This seems kind of spammy. But not sure spammy enough to ban.

Hi Florian. I went to the site and they do have some excellent pics. I think it's kinda spammy in that they probably put this generic post on most outdoor bulletin board sites, but other than that they appear to probably be legit. You've posted some rockin' pics over the years, maybe they were hoping you'd submit something!

That's how I felt. Didn't see a submission fee so maybe it's legit? Do I care enough to research it? :? I don't know. I'm going to bed...
